Manor Farm Slimbridge itinerary;

Everyday all our visitors will get to meet, feed and care for the animals on the farm while enjoying plenty of crafts and other activities! 

 

As always Mondays will be tractor and machinery related, Tuesdays we will be cooking, Wednesdays will be about adventure and expedition with Thursdays being our ever popular pony day and on a Friday we will end the week with a farewell bonfire

May half term week 1-4 June

This week we will have our very own belated May Day celebration. We will learn about where the tradition of May Day comes from and crown a Manor Farm Guinea pig May king and queen. We will dance around a May pole and wang a welly!

Summer club weekly themes;

week 1#  5th-9th July

This week will see the return of our annual marvellous mud week. We will be at one with the wallowing pigs, create wonderful art from clay, go on a bare foot walk and learn how we manage mud on the farm.

week 2# 12th - 16th July

This week we will relax into a week of mindfulness and wellbeing at the Manor Farm retreat! We will put up chillout tents and make our own natural perfumes, face masks and mocktails. We will also enjoy yoga, games designed to lift the spirits and of course mountains of much needed animal cuddles.  

week 3# 19th-23rd July

This week will be our story of wheat week. Everyone loves harvesting wheat on the farm and at Wycliffe and learning how to winnow, make flour and delicious bread. We will learn the history of wheat and look at many interesting gluten free alternatives so that everyone can join in!

week 4# 26th-30th July

Let's hope the sun is shining for wonderful water week if not, we will embrace the elements and splash into the rain with our wellie at the ready. We will bath guinea pigs, ponies and tortoises, clean troughs, devise watery obstacle courses. Make water art and enjoy a water pistol show down or two.

week 5# 2nd-6th August

Roll up, roll up it wouldn't be summer on the farm without a Manor Farm circus week. From pony tricks and stilt walking to hoop balancing hens and mind-boggling magic we will don our ostrich feather headdresses and ring masters' hats for a week of wonder.

week 6# 9th-13th August

This week we will explore earth, wind and fire from building wormeries and kites to charcoal pencil making we will harness their power and celebrate nature. We will also use the inspiration of these mighty elements to create unique art.

week 7# 16th-20th August

This week will be all about hidden treasure. From pirate chest to Roman hoard, we will learn why people have hidden there precious belonging in the past. We will enjoy making cryptic clue treasure hunts for friends and of course go panning for gold in the sandpit. 

week 8# 23rd-27th August

This week will be fun and games week. We will design and build our own board games including giant outdoor versions. We will invent enriching games for the animals to play such as treat mazes and enjoy everyone's old favourites cross the golden river, tag, hide and seek and many more. 

week 9# 30th August - 3rd September

This last week of the summer break we will wind down and say goodbye to our friends both four legged and two. We will also get super creative making amazing keepsakes to take home and treasure,

Manor Farm at Wycliffe Prep School itinerary;

At Wycliffe Prep we will be bringing an exciting taste of farm life to the school in Stonehouse each and every holiday. There will be guinea pigs, baby chicks and unusual mini beasts to handle and meet everyday and plenty of planting, growing and learning about rural life.

 

On Mondays a surprise animal will visit from the farm, Tuesdays will be rural arts and crafts day, from egg blowing to willow weaving. On a Wednesday we will throw ourselves in to the great outdoors. Each Thursday will be all about green fingers and farm to fork with Fridays seeing a visit from our beloved Shetland pony when he can be groomed
